Windows 7 BSOD 0x1000007E

I've been getting BSOD's relentlessly over the last few months. Most of the time I get the following message:

0x1000007E system_thread_exception_not_handled

I have not changed anything on the computer. In fact running Windows XP I seldom got these BSODs. Now just trying to figure out what could be causing this.

I've attached the MINI DUMP file from a crash which took place a few minutes ago today, in the hopes that someone can help me and point me in the right direction of what I can do to try and resolve these BSODs.

Updated the original post to include a zip file containing the MINIDMP file.

Please fill in your System Specs so we can better assist you.

Start off with the following tests:

Do a Memtest86+ and run for at least 7 passes (6-8 hours): RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Do a sfc /scannow
Do a Disk Check
Lastly, run a HDD Test (using SeaTools)

Update your video card drivers and network card drivers
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers


The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).


Also make sure that you have all your window's updates installed. This includes any optional updates you may have (except for language packs)
