BSOD - Same symptoms, different codes
Hey guys!
I'm getting artifacting (I'm guessing that's the correct term, see pic) followed by a BSOD when I am playing a game. The BSOD codes are always different, as are the minidumps. Sometimes I don't get a BSOD, the computer screen goes black and I get an error about being unable to recover the display driver, or I just get a frozen screen with repeating sound.
I had about 11 minidumps at one point, but re-installed windows so now there are only 3 collected. Sometimes I can play the game for hours without a BSOD, other times just 10 minutes.
A picture of the "artifact" and system diagnostic collection (As per the forums instructions) are attached.
Things I have tried:
- Ran Memtest86 overnight (Tests passed)
- Removed 4GB of Memory
- Monitored tempertures on the NB, CPU, and GPU (All ok, video card gets a bit hot sometimes in my opinion, 75 max, but it can run like this for hours without a BSOD, sometimes I get the BSOD at 55 degrees.)
- Updated all of the BIOS and drivers I could find for my system. (Including Modem, Graphics, Mobo, and Nforce storage)
- Clean install of Windows as of 4 days ago.
My specs:
- Windows 7 Professional x64 Retail
- 550w PSU
- ATI HD 5850
- 4GB RAM (Was 8)
- EVGA 780i Mobo
- All about a year and a half old, the graphics card is about 6 months old.
