Windows 7: Having start up issues

Hi Everyone,

I am new here and glad to be registered on this forum for some help.

First off. I have just built my friends computer and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Everything went perfectly with the install of the OS. I downloaded and installed all the windows 7 updates and installed the nVidia drivers for his GTX570. Ive been restarting the computer alot due to all the windows update I have been installing on the PC.

The next day after all that I went to turn on his PC for more testing and it got stuck on the black screen where it says Starting Windows just before the colored animation shows. It was stuck for 5 min so I turned it off. The second time I turned it on it worked fine. Then the 3rd time I turned it on it did the same thing.



So from then I went to the Windows 7 DVD. After it loaded the files I got a BSOD. I know i forgot to jot down the info from it but the next time it happens I will get it to you. After a second attempt with the DVD I got to the repair screen. So now I am doing a restore from a previous date. Hopefully this works.

Is there any solution to this from happening if the restore doesn't work?
