If you put in your dvd and run it up you can do a "startup" repair which will not alter your settings, docs etc.

Boot the DVD Repair console or Repair CD to run System Restore from System Recovery Options

Next run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots.

Next test your RAM with memtest86 for 5-6 passes or overnight: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Forums

Next test your HD with maker's Diagnostics/Repair full CD scan: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp

If it will not repair you can copy out your data this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console - Windows 7 Forums

Then run the Factory Recovery partition or disks, or clean reinstall: Clean Reinstall steps
