Windows 7: updates

updates

I've diagnosed my memory dumps and I cant update the drivers anymore because the drivers are the latest. Is it just time to purge some hardware? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Upload the memory dumps and I will take a look.
Bear in mind, some drivers could be faulty/corrupt as well.

Yep - this sounds like a hardware issue, but do these followings first...
- Boot into Safe Mode with Networking
- Uninstall the Display Drivers (from Device Manager) and Catalyst Control Center (from Add/Remove Program Utility)
- Use Driver Sweeper to sweep the traces of the graphics driver Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Install the latest version ATI Radeon
- Reboot into normal mode

Those Silicon Image Drivers are still showing up, have you update it yet?

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and rename them from .SYS to .BAK
If you are getting problems after renaming it - revert it back to .sys

Hey, my computer just dumped in safe mode. I have attached the file but I think it would be better if I format the hard drive and reinstall the system then install each component 1 by 1. See what happens. Have you got suggestions for a windows 7 certified graphics card because my motherboard hasn't got a vga out.

We are looking at almost certain hardware trouble here; we should move right to some diagnostics. I suggest you start by running all three Prime95 tests for perhaps 2 hours apiece. See here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Also, run a SeaTools test for your hard drive: SeaTools for Windows | Seagate

Finish up with 7 or 8 passes of Memtest86: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Windows Check for updates keeps running-all installation/updates fail
I have never posted on a forum before so apologies if I am doing this wrong. The problem started when I tried to plug in my (new) iphone to my Dell pc. The device was not detected so I tried to update my itunes software - update failed and I received a Windows 7 error. After searching through...

MSE updates flagged in Win 7 updates but not XP Mode updates
I find it odd that when I do a Windows Update in Windows 7, the Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) updates are also found. But if I do a Windows Update in XP Mode, the MSE updates are not found. I don't suppose this is controllable? I'd like the Windows Update to find MSE updates.
