Windows 7: BSOD EventID 41 Task 63

Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 64 bit o/s

Thank you again.

This driver is for drag to disc and is apparently connected to the Roxio Creator ... with myDVD. I confess that I have never knowingly used the two Roxio programs that came with the computer. I fired up both of them and used the help screen to force them to look for updates. Both reported none available. Nevertheless, I bothered to obtain the enormous d/l from Lenovo for the software and it says it is from 2009 (ugh!) but am not certain that I will install it. Ironically, due to its size, 434MB, I will probably just burn it to CD and keep it until I need it. My inclination is to simply uninstall these two programs and see if I can get along with out them.

What do you think? Is this software needed to run the DVD drive? Will I still be able to read/write without it?

Curiously, I had similar BSOD problems with my CD drive on my older XP Lenovo, too, but only when I actually used the drive as a burner, that I never resolved to my satisfaction. IBM even replaced the drive (under warranty) on the older computer, but that wasn't the problem. I suspect that Sonic just isn't building the drivers the way they should be built.

Yes you'll be fine. When you uninstall it just make sure that driver is gone. If it isn't rename it from .Sys to .bak and you should be ok. Let me know how it goes
