BSODs while gaming, cannot find cause
Hi everyone
I've been having some problems with BSODs while gaming. No one has been able to solve my problem on various forums I've been posting on, so hopefully someone over here is a ninja and knows whats up. Here's my story, hopefully it's not to long
Built a new system about a month ago. However, when I game on it, I BSOD within 5-10 minutes of playing. My system is "stable" when not gaming (it has BSODd outside of gaming, usually when browsing the web). I've been playing Minecraft, L4D2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and WoW
To help diagnose the problem, I have done various things. In order (from my memory) I have done:
- Checked to make sure drivers were up to date, and updated drivers that needed it
- Ran memtest for 7+ passes, no problems
- Ran prime95, no problems
- Ran furmark, no problems
- Ran driver verifier for 24 hours+, no BSODs in this time
- Reformatted my computer and did a fresh install of windows, still got BSODs
- Ran memtest AGAIN, no problems
- Ran driver verifier again, this time just left it on while I did my thing. The system didn't BSOD for a whole 6 days! Turned off driver verifier since it wasn't finding anything and started getting BSODs again
- Removed all unnecessary hardware (xbox 360 controller, stuff like that) still got BSODs. In fact, one BSOD points at my xbox 360 controller as the cause of a BSOD, so I removed it and still got BSODs
- Tried running games with one stick of ram, BSOD
- Tried using onboard graphics, still got BSOD
- Disabled onboard sound, still got BSOD
- Bashed head on wall, still no dice
I have uploaded a zip containing all of my BSODs since 03/20/2011. Some of the BSODs I received did not create a minidump.
At this point, I'm starting to think it's a motherboard problem, but I don't have the money to go buy a new one and test it. Being a poor college student kind of sucks. Anyways, if you folks need any other bits of information, I'll give it to you (except my credit card number!).
Please, help me! Thanks in advanced
