    Windows 7 Won't Start - Error 0xc0000221

    Vista won't boot - oxc0000221 - MajorGeeks Support Forums

This is the best thread that I could find that most relates to my problem in what is going wrong.

The difference being my machine has been working fine. I had to get a new HDD due to failure and restored the image fine without problems. Worked fine over the last week, with one or two random reboots (should have taken the hint) When I switched HDD I also installed more memory.

It may be related to some bad memory, which I will test tonight, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight on why the system recovery disc doesn't even start?

At this point, I couldn't reinstall windows if I wanted to without first wiping the entire drive and booting the repair disc to a clean HDD.

Seems odd. Will remove memory and test tonight.

    Thanks.

If you can boot fine without those faulty RAMs - then the RAMs are giving you BSOD.
