| | Pls Help w/Black Screen Error Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 original Install OEM I just built this system a couple of weeks ago. Clean install of OS on all new hardware. Occasionally the system recovers from a brief black screen and reports: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver nvidia Windows kernel mode driver, version 266.58 stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Sometimes shortly after startup I get similar symptoms but it doesn't recover. I'm left with a black screen, and must press reset button to restart. It always starts fine the 2nd time, and runs fine after that. I ran memtest and all tests passed. I'm using the latest bios and video drivers. As I said, the black screen error always happens shortly after what appears to have been a successful startup. This is my first post ever in a forum.
