    BSoD with new Acer Laptop

I have an Acer Aspire 8943G, bought a fwe months ago but only used for the last 10 days. So far only installed AVG, Zone alarm, MS Office and Outlook (both 2007). OS installation by manufacturer (Windows 7 Home Premium X64), but I have run Windows update. BSoD does not seem to have any associated particular set of conditions, with the possible exception that it may occur when the m/c is booted with a external drive and or a USB stick attached on start up. Both have long usage on another m/c with no problems. Note the BSoD occurs after a period of normal operating. Attached is the zip file as per your posting instructions which I hope I have interpreted correctly. (This is my first post) Any help will be really appreciated.Attachment 147191

Your BSOD's are beign blamed on NETIO.sys usually when this happens it is a conflict between your anti virus and firewall

I would remove Zone alarm, and AVG anr replace with Microsfot security essentisal and the win 7 firewall

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
    If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
            use .trap on that value
    Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
    Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
    Arg2: 0000000080050031
    Arg3: 00000000000006f8

Thanks Zigzag. I have done exactly as you suggested. Do you want to close this thread or will I let it run for a few days to see if all now runs smoothly?

Your call. I would let it run for a day or two then close it. Glad to see you are running
