    Black Screen of Death

    Hello everyone,
Just recently i got a problem with my pc running windows 7. what happens is, everything works fine to the point where i reach the login screen, i click on my user icn, enter my password and then it loads and i get a blank black screen with only the cursor showing.
what's weird is when i switch my user account and use guest or administrator (i have 3 accounts), i can successfully login and see my desktop and task bar and icons. it's only when i log into my user account that i get this problem.
i have searched everywhere for a solution but with no luck.
    someone please help me!

    thank you!

Hi realnsleo and welcome to SF.
It's just a hunch but it looks like explorer.exe isn't started/crashed due to a possibly corrupted profile.
press CTRL-ALT-Del and check the task list, if explorer exe runs.
If not, in Task manager go to File/New Tasl(Run) and start explorer.exe from there.
If that works, we'll figure out how to fix your probably corrupted user profile.

hi realnsleo i have write ur post this problem happend to me do these follow steps:
    1) Restart your PC

    2) Logon and wait for the black screen to appear

    3) Make sure your PC should be able to connect to the internet (black screen does not appear to affect this)

    4) Press the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys simultaneously

    5) When prompted, Click Start Task Manager

    6) In Task Manager Click on the Application Tab

    7) Next Click New Task

    8) Now enter the command:

    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" "http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?GRAB=BLACKSCREENFIX"

Note this command assumes that you are using internet explorer as your browser, if not substitute your browser path and file details for those of iexplore.exe or use the Browser option of Task manager to locate it.

    9) Click OK and your browser should start up and begin the download process

    10) When prompted for the download Click run, the black screen fix program will download and run to automatically fix the issue.

    11) Now restart your PC and the black screen problem will hopefully be gone.

    hope this help.

log on to your administrator account and restore the computer to a restore point that lies in time before the error occurred.
You wouldn't have to re install all your programs...only what you installed after that restore point was created.

    System Restore

    try this realnsleo.....

    1) Reboot and press F8
    2) Select "Repair my computer"
    3) Select the keyboard layout and lanugage
    4) When you reach system recovery tools, select System restore.
    5) Select the restore point when it was working fine and restart the computer.

If you do not have the system restore points, try startup repair.

Tell me what happend ok im waiting for your post
