    Sudden complete lock up

The computer has been locking up
    - does not respond to keyboard for a couple of minutes and mouse can't move. Delayed response to keyboards presses.
Happens on starting IE window or sometimes during playing Youtube video.
    Win7 Home Premium (Japanese version)
    OEM

Did that- it found no malware.

I did the flagged windows updates and actions- no real idea what they were but one was the Win defender action.

Have you tried doing a System Restore ?
If you have no luck with that you may need to do a Repair Install assuming you have your Windows 7 installation disk. If one of these methods doesn't help please let us know and we'll try another route.

There IS a pictoral in the link- System Restore
You may try a Japanese to English translator. Japanese to English Translation
    Hope this helps.
