    Help: to recover event viewer

I ended up inadvertently deleting some .evt files that I had open under saved logs. Now, I can neither click open the "Saved Logs" under event viewer or open any other .evt or .evtx files shipped to me. .evt I can get around using XP mode but not .evtx

Is there anyway to restore event viewer? or get around this error?

Screenshots of the errors are attached

You could try a system restore though I'm not sure it'll work.

Also try running a sfc scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Only one- repair install. Read the tut carefully before launching. Also if you have SP1 installed and a pre-SP1 dvd, you cant run repair install from that.

    Repair Install

BTW, can you access event viewer from the Run command? Click on start orb, type eventvwr.msc, hit Enter.
