ASACPI.sys the 2005 version is a huge cause of BSODs
information   Information
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "
ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005)

ASACPI.sys fffff880`040a7000 fffff880`040af000 0x00008000 0x42476c4c 28/03/2005

I downloaded the drivers. Apologies for such a basic question, but how do you install them?

I've got an .inf file, a sys file, and a security catalog file. Googled it, ms page says to use hardware manager or right click > install on the .inf file. Right click > install does not work on this .inf file ("The inf file you selected does not support this method of installation.") , and I'm not sure what device to choose in hardware manager (Can't find the model number or anything that says "Motherboard.")

That file is currently date stamped as 2005.

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. Found the ASACPI.sys file in hardware manager and installed. The time stamp on the file is now 2009.

Thank you for the help! I'll update if the problem persists.

You'll find the ATK Set up somewhere under under System Devices in the Device Manager. On the top toolbar select View then Show Hidden Devices.

Driver Install - Manual method
  1. Download the driver and extract it to a folder
  2. Open the Device Manager
  3. Right click the device you wish to change the drivers for. You can select Properties > Driver > Driver Details to check you have the right device.
  4. Choose Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
  6. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  7. Select Have disk...
  8. Select Browse..
  9. Navigate to the extracted folder and double click on the .inf file
  10. Hit OK, then Next and the driver(s) will then begin to install.
