    The reason I asked is that you state you are running Win 7 Enterprise edition which is usually associated with a company computer. A normal user wouldn't purchase Enterprise edition.

    Yes of course it is my former PC from work which I was able to keep but the Win license is of course legit

    If I am not going to be able fix it, i will probably buy Win7 home edition and try to install that (assuming it will all work)

    That will probably be the easiest and quickest way since it seems like were getting no where with this boot issue.

    Honestly $200 for juts windows is pretty crazy taking in account that for about $400 i can get a new laptop. Not sure it will make all sense ...

    Maybe a free Linux ??

    BTW I just noticed than in the back of my PC I still have the official MSFT license/product key for Windows Vista (originally came wth Vista). Maybe I can install Vista instead? I dont have anymore the Vista CD. Is there anywhere I could download it and use the legit license/product key?
