    Windows 7 64bit freezing randomly

So i have already posted about this a while ago and ended up marking it as solved. however it has started again.
my computer freezes "randomly", although it seems to only/mostly happen when using media programs, for example last time it happened i was watching youtube, often happens when watching on VLC player. and occasionally on COD.

the thread i worked through was https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...-randomly.html and did all the checks they recommended, even bought a cooling stand since we came to the conclusion that it was the heat that was causing the problem.

this time when it happened i was updating my iphone, and i noticed the update continued even when the computer was frozen, so the computer isnt frozen just the screen, also when it happens the sound is a humming sound, i think it is repeating the last sound that was played before it froze. i have also noticed that sometimes when watching movies on VLC player (probably same for any media player) that it "lags" and has the same freezing effect but for only a split second.

so im thinking it may have something to do with the video/graphics card or reader or something like that.

Please upload ur most recently minidumps.
    In meantime....
    Remove,reinstall,update ur video card driver.
Do you have any codecs installed? remove them.
Because you mention youtube,Update all the adobeS,flash,shockwave....
For video playing use the MPCHM Media Player Classic - Home Cinema - Video Player no codecs needed
Dont use VLC,that player sometimes causes windows crash.

since it is happening on a number of programs, surely it wouldnt be a software issue.

ill try the video card step

    Hi Spinksy,

Please try unplugging your HP printer (LaserJet is it ?) and let me know if the bluescreen repros. If it does, might need full dump here.

    f.

ps: if you do not own an HP printer, i got the VID/PID wrong, feel free to try unplugging non-critical USB devices and see how it goes.
