BSOD Please help!

Hi, i am not overly computer literate and my computer keeps crashing. last night it wouldnt boot at all, start up repair or anything. I installed Logitech Vid a few weeks ago, that is the only thing that i am aware of putting on, which i have uninstalled but still crashing. This morning the start up repair worked but i would liek to be able to fix the problem once and for all!

PLEASE HELP!!! I will put the latest dump files.

Two of the three dumps are corrupt but the third points to AVG.

I would remove and replace with Microsoft Security essentials

Thank you very much Zigzag. I uninstalled AVG and installed Microsoft Security essentials and was ok for a day or so. I have had more BSOD and last night it crashed and wouldn't turn on again, well the box turns on but the monitor wont, no start up repair, wouldn't boot from recovery CD that i made when i first got the computer. ARRHH i am outta my depth here. I ran the Memtest and it passed 7 times. All the system tests passed too. I will put my latest dmp file on, any help will be greatly appreciated again. :D

Forgot to add, after unplugging from power all night, first thing this morning it started up with the option of repair, my hubby started it and didnt choose anything cos he had no idea so he said it said it will choose automatically and it started ok.

Thank you Mgorman87. I have done what you asked, hopefully i have done it right!

I have my system specs on here, but i am not sure how to get them in the post. But the computer was bought maybe 8mths ago, all pre-loaded with windows 7, i had to create the recovery Cd.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I have done nothing to the operating system.

I have in the last few days installed a HP printer. I will uninstall it as it is a borrowed one.

I hope this is enough info, thank you very much for your time.

My keyboard is a compaq USB that came with the computer and i use a wireless Logitech mouse.

I did all that you said, when i went to update driver it said "this graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware" The scan and disk chk said were was no problems. I ran the long and short test in seaport, but it froze at the end and wouldn't do anything, i had to switch the power off. I have had more crashes, had to do system restore, reinstalled SP1. I went to device manager and all the devices say they have up to date driver. I am going to run all the seaport tests again and see what happens. I will upload my recent dump files.

The memtest ran good, When i was running the CPU test it crashed about 20mins in to it. Wasnt able to boot back up again til this morning - the following day.

I got a memory dmp file, not sure if its any different, wont let me attach at the moment, i am in safe mode with networking, I will try to load it if someone thinks its important. I have put the last few dumps. Sorry if they are the same as earlier posted, but i dont think they are.

If this is a CPU problem would it be something i can claim under warranty?

Should i re run the tests? Thanks again for your help!

Hi again! ok I ran the Primetest and it ran for a couple of hours before a black screen came up saying "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computer checksum" I have had this error msg a couple of times now and have had to do many system restores. Is there a file somewhere now that tells what made it crash? What do i need to do now to let you know what caused the problems?

I can next time! The screen was black and up the very top of it it said the checksum thing. I think it did it the first time i ran the test too. So i guess i run the test again, if i get the same error I will take a photo. When i get the error the only thing that i can do is turn the power off and windows startup repair wont fix it, needs a restore done.

So while your running Prime95 the screen turns black and you get the error message?

Hi Mgorman87 - Yep I was running the test last night and it ran for a couple of hours ,i then fell asleep on lounge it was running just before i fell asleep, but when i woke up an hour or so later, it had the error message there.

I have noticed too that I can be using the computer and all is ok, but then if i leave it for a bit, my photo slideshow comes up, then i will get the BSOD - i find that odd as i am not doing anything on it. For now while it is working I am trying to get a few things done, then I will re run the primetest.

Hi, Sorry I havent been back for a bit, have been away but the computer has not crashed again since last week. I am not sure why it has stopped crashing, but a friend has been using my computer and has had no problems and she didnt do anything to it!

I will rerun the stresstest and hopefully be able to upload the results.
