Windows 7 froze up after last updates were done

Just installed Windows 7 64 bit tonight got all the updates done then was recording a show while updating my system spec's online and my computer froze up even the mouse froze would this be a glitch in windows or the CPU? thanks for any help.
PS CPU was at less then 30% load at the time.
