Windows 7: Random Freezing Win7 x64

Random Freezing Win7 x64

Hi Guys,

First post here so please bare with me!

I have searched the forum extensively for this problem and see that several people I believe had - are having the same issue and as far as I can tell no complete concrete resolution.

System - brand new build Windows 7 x64.
Asus P8P67-WS Revolution new rev - B3.
Crucial 2 * 4GB Ballistix modules
HD 6970 graphics
Intel X25M SDD
HP DVD drive
Logitecg G15 Keyboard and G9 mouse

Symptoms: Machine will randomly lock either when idle or when in IE9 and left idle. It has only locked once when browsing. Machine runs great when gaming - no issues whatsoever. All temps are fine. When machine locks video stays up, display on keyboard and lights on mouse go out. Hard reset appears only way to get it booted. I have tried removing the usb connectors and locating in other slots - no dice.

NO minidump file ever generated, checked several times. I have ran the windows built in mem test on standard settings several times no issue. Tried SFC /Scannow etc.

I am wondering if it is something to do with IE9?? I will cold start the machine and leave it run for as long as possible soon without opening anything to see what happens - a little hard yet as I just built it.

Any input, comments appreciated. :-)

Great forum!!

If you upload a report, I can see what's going on with your system

You can also run another memory test but use Memtest86 instead.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Make sure you run it for 7-8 passes

Let me know the results of memtest.

Check to make sure you have minidumps enabled.
Set MiniDump

You can try updating your network card drivers

The following fatal alert was generated: 10. The internal error state is 10.
This error happens a lot in your event logs. After some Googling it appears as this error has to do with TSL (Transport Layer Security) in IE. Go into Internet Options and then go to the Advanced tab and scroll down to the security section and make sure that none of the TSL options are checked. This may fix your problem.
