Windows 7: Some voice computers seem to lock windows

I have the strangest issue...

I can use teamspeak 3 just fine

but I've had a problem with mumble, whenever I start it up, and then join a server...my computer just freezes, can't move mouse, can type, can't CTRL+ALT_DELETE...I have to manually shut off the computer by holding the power button to get it working again.

I thought this was just an issue with mumble, until today when I installed Kayako Desktop...and I get the same issue when I start the program up, it loads, and then my computer just freezes.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this, or the things I can do in order to try and troubleshoot?

All the drivers I've checked seem to be updated, I know a long time ago I tried to log into TS3 and TS2 at the same time and my computer locked up while making a humming sound, that is when mumble started not working for me I guess (it had always worked before that). I faintly remember an error popping up about a registry issue during that time frame after the TS3 and TS2 incident...but that was probably 6 months ago so I'm not really sure.

At this point, I just don't know where to begin to look...
