    Win7 Crashes

    Hey,

I have been receiving BSOD's ever since a big update from windows 7 also I had installed a the new 270.61 driver from Nvidia so first I thought it was the driver
but my sister whom uses older drivers as she doesn't update those things often unless i do it for her has BSOD's to.

now I only had them with Firefox 4 on and when playing Rift

with other games I haven't had any problems (so far)

the temperature when gaming is 65 Celsius at the time as room temperature is 25C idle its 54C this is for both CPU and Graphics card.

I ran a clean up for my HDD and still have them Windows doesn't seem to make dump files of them though as nirsoft BSOD viewer can't find any and the minidump folder is also empty.

I have attached .rar with the necessary files according to this forums instructions and I hope you guys can help me figure this out as they are fairly frequent.

No dumps were collected by the jcgriff2 tool, dumps may have been deleted. Did you run any system cleaners(such as Ccleaner) after the crash?
If so wait for the computer to crash and re-upload the file :)

I ran Disk clean up but turned off the clean dump as it is on by default maybe it did anyways?

I don't know but after that i had 2 more BSOD's and that when /I ran the collection software that was recommended so somehow windows then did not create the dump files.

I noticed that earlier as I tried to look them up through nirsoft dump viewer so something weird is going on then I will try and see if it will create one if it happens again as it will happen again.

I will upload the new report as soon as I can thank you for helping out.

Got it again now there was a dump file so here is an updated rar that has the reports.

I saw in thew BSOD viewer it was due to ntoskrnl.exe and that it mostly means bad ram, if you could confirm that or anything for me while I try it out through running a memtest then I would be very grateful for all the help.

Actually I am already grateful but even more so when we find the culprit.

    It is a hardware error
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Run Prime 95 again to test your CPU.. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.
    Turn off any overclocking

Just wanted to update on some tests I ran (running the Prime 95 now so post that later).

    Ram was fine ran memtest86+

And my sister has BlueScreen errors to with the same file showing up since the big update from microsoft which was the 14/04 for me and also for here and only a few days after she has BlueScreen errors like me with the same error while not having the same hardware at all only thing in common is the brands used.

Now I saw a lot of people reporting on other forums about the same issue and started having them since then and like me before that never occurred so either something in the updates is wrong or it changed the way it works with certain hardware, I thought it might have been the new Nvidia driver as now it uses multi-threading but also AMD radeon users have them since around the 14th of april.

Also I have never overclocked anything as in my opinion that is the most stupid thing you can do even if they are cooled well but thats just my opinion, Also I clean the inside of dust with compressed air every month and have custom cooling on the video card also added extra fans to the casing.

I changed the cooling on the card due to it getting to hot in my opinion 95-100C (which Nvidia claims is allowed) when I removed the old one it had so much dust hidden within. I used specialized tools with anti static wrist band and special screw drivers (40 piece set of tools)

I am just trying to give all information so if something is missing please tell me and I will add it.

(P.S. so far all tests are being passed on Prime 95 but its not done yet so I will report back with those findings)

Had to stop the Prime96 before it was done as the temperature was sky rocketing even to 86 Celsius which worries me as i believe its critical temp is 79.
so far everything passed though but here are the results.

(It is Spring here and hottest one since years which means room temp is over 30C as to fall being 10C and winter under zero degrees)

Waiting for the new AMD APU so I am hoping its not the CPU as I want to hang on to it till end this year for the Bulldozer version.
