Computer shutting off while playing game

The game is Dragon Age: Origins. Whenever I have it running in windowed mode (not fullscreen windowed, like smaller screen windowed for multitasking) the computer shuts off completely with no warning. I get no BSOD, nothing else on startup after these crashes, it just starts up normally. Can someone help me with this? I've tried the support forums but one of the mods directed me here, see:

Choose Language | BioWare Social Network

Not sure what to do at this point besides wait for another patch perhaps, if no one here can help me.

    Obviously, specs:
    Windows 7 64-bit
    Studio XPS 435MT
    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz (8 CPUs)~2.7GHz
    4096MB RAM
    DirectX11

Hello there. PC is shutting down only when you play this game,or and when you play other games? Anyway it will be good to check the temperatures in your pc. Maybe some fans are not working good. Download SIW for free and check your temperatures there. Also it will be good to run a full scan on your pc with Malwarebytes.

No, it's just this game. And I thought it was overheating, but I have Speedfan and it doesn't seem to be doing so. And if I had a virus, I would know about it because I do weekly checks and have MSE, MalwareBytes, and Avast.

Hmm this looks strange. Your game is downloaded from somewhere or its licenced?

If your computer is shutting off completely, it usually indicates something is overheating. If Speedfan is showing nothing is overheating, perhaps you can try reinstalling the game. Also, ensure your settings in-game are configured properly.

    Also, are you overclocking anything?

And, you mentioned specifically it dies when running in windowed mode. Does it do that when it's full screen or full screen windowed?

Licensed game, bought it with my own cash legitimately and everything. <3 DA too much not to legitimately buy it :P. And heres a screencap of speedfan normally:

and here's a screencap with the game running:

The only time I've looked into overclocking was on my graphics card, and I just let the ATI thing set it up for me. I thought it would help me play RIFT but my computer was unsupported anyway, it had the same problem I'm having right now. But other than that I've never touched anything having to do with overclocking.

It does not die in fullscreen, I can play for hours and everything's dandy.

Although I was guessing it was overheating and it probably is. I don't really know how to solve that besides playing in fullscreen/buying new stuff for my computer which I can't do right now.

As I can see... almous 70C on CPU cores, are too much. I don't any i7 CPU and don't know what are the normal temperatures, but 70C is high temperature. Maybe this game is taking more resources than other games,so the cpu is more hot?

Yeah, the Tech guy on the forums said it is a major CPU hog, unlike DA2 which is better cause they tweaked the engine. Maybe I'll just have to deal with playing in fullscreen lol. =\

Yeah, that is just too hot for your temps. You need to fix fanspeeds, dust the machine or look into water cooling (I keed...) I'm curious why it doesn't die during fullscreen mode. Could you run Speedfan during fullscreen and see what the temps say?
