explorer.exe not responding?

Hello all! This problem is unfixable for me. I cant seem to find out why explorer.exe is not responding in normal windows mode. I am in safe mode right now. This problem could not be fixed as I defraged the registry and cleaned it (with tune up utilities) PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and trendmicro did not report spyware or viruses

Did this problem begin before you defragged and cleaned the registry or was that an attempt to fix the problem?

When you try to boot in Normal Mode, do you get to your desktop? Can you access Task Manager?

What were you doing just before this problem started? Were you online? Did you receive any error messages?

If you have not done so already, you should back up any important files now.

After you have backed up your files, try using a bootable rescue disk

Some people have reported problems with the Kaspersky Rescue CD, so you may want to try one of the others.

As a matter of fact I can go to task manager and my desktop shows. I was on my xbox 360 while this happend and when I went to the pc the taskbar and desktop was not responding.
