A few days ago I bought a new computer.
The assembly went smoothly, as did the Windows installation. But yesterday when I started browsing for drivers
and games the computer froze for a second and then BSOD'ed (i was using firefox 4.0 and avira antivirus free).
I thought that this would be a one-time occurance, so I just booted up again and retraced my steps. But when I reached the page that had caused the crash, it crashed again.
So i searched around for a bit and the most straightforward solution would be to update the drivers. I updated the graphics and my usb-antenna's drivers.
It didn't help.
Next I tried to change antivirus to microsoft security essentials.
(I used avira's removal tool, I believe
After another reboot and some Windows updates it still didn't work.
So here I am.
Some other info:
Windows 7 x64 Professional.
It is the first OS on the system.
I believe it's a Full retail copy (I got it through MSDNAA).
I assembled the components and installed Windows two days ago...
Help would really be appreciated.
