BSOD after choosing gateway in Maplesea

    My Window 7 is:
    - x86
    - the original installed OS on the system
    - OEM = came pre-installed on system

    - What is the age of system (hardware)?
    1 year

    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
    1, and no.

    note:
The BSODs that happened in December stop happening after I uninstall daemon tools, so I thought that there shouldn't be any problem anymore.
But after I install the newest update for window 7(KB976902), the BSODs happen again after I start Maplesea and choose the gateway.

The crash was caused by Maplesea which is known to cause BSODs on somw Windows7 systems, remove/update this software
    Code:
    BUGCHECK_STR: 0x8E

    PROCESS_NAME: MapleStory.exe

    CURRENT_IRQL: 0

    LAST_CONTROL_TRANSFER: from 738b5792 to 83092347
You also have extremely old drivers on your system
wanatw4.sys is related to your America Online Software Wan miniport (ATW) service
Update or remove it as it is obsolete
    Code:
    wanatw4.sys 0x933f5000 0x933fa020 0x00005020 0x3d343a62 16/07/2002 19:23:14
Update your Intel Raid Stoport driver http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm
    Code:
    iirsp.sys 0x8c121000 0x8c131000 0x00010000 0x439f4191 14/12/2005 01:48:01
Update your Adaptec driver(probably a raid driver) http://www.adaptec.com/en-us/downloads/
    Code:
    adpu320.sys 0x8be00000 0x8be26000 0x00026000 0x45e4c6bc 28/02/2007 04:03:08
All these need to be updated:

    Updating drivers
    - search Google for the name of the drivers (all listed above)
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

But I wonder whether it is possible that update for window 7 (kb976902) can be the reason.

before that is installed to this computer, I have no BSOD.
but after that is installed, whenever I start Maplesea, I get BSOD.

now, after that thread, the BSOD was solved for awhile after I disabled window update, but then it appeared again in few days ago.

After I updated AVG, when I played Maplesea, I got BSOD.

So I though that if i uninstall AVG, I won't get BSOD, and also, I enable window update also.

    I also install ESET.

    but I still get BSOD.

    The biggest problem I see is;

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads

when you're done you can use this Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) in its place. MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor

You also have several old drivers and for that reason I suggest you update to SP-1

    but then I wonder why.

I mean, in the past, I also had those things and I could still play Maplesea.

the things done in between my last time being able to play(12/5, 4~6PM, GMT+8) and my first time being unable to play again(12/5, 7PM, GMT+8) are just
    1. sudden disconnection
    2. AVG update
    3. restart due to AVG update
    4. adobe flash player update

    and I uninstalled AVG already.
though, I am checking some stuff right now.

    and not sure about DuplexSecure.

Ok sorry to be confusing. I am trying to give you possible reasons so that we dont have a back and forth for days or weeks trying to resolve the issue.

Something has changed. perhaps a driver has gone bad. updating the driver might fix it.
