Frequent BSODs - help needed to trace common cause
Hi
I'm suffering from frequent BSODs and would be grateful for any help to find the common cause(s). I've had the problems since purchasenearly a year ago, but lately they are more frequent. Yes, I could send it back for repair, but being without it for a couple of weeks would also cause problems for me.
As the problem usually (but not always) occurs within 10 minutes of power-up, I suspect overheating, even though I bought extra cooling fans for the system. The obvious culprits are:
- my CPU, which is over-clocked
- my GPU, which occasionally stops working, but usually recovers after a few seconds
- but other components could be causing problems
My system spec...
Processor: over-clocked Intel Core i3 CPU 540@3.07GHz
RAM: 4GB
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 (Windows 7 Home Premium, Version 6.1 (Build 7601 SP1)
Anti-Virus: Avast
I've attached the various logs requested in the "How to post" article. Some notes:
- Avast is running OK, so I'm not sure why lack of AV software is flagged
- My printer is a Canon MX700, which is also working OK using plug-and-play
- I am surprised by the msg "Investigate why 30% (9,417) events were lost during data collection", and I'm not sure how to change ETW settings to address that
Thanks for any help you can give me
