i searched and all i found was one in sys32/drivers, the old is sitting in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\atk2000.inf_amd64_neutral_a91abe245a6c41c8

there is no update for the aol desktop, and i downloaded it recently from their site about a week or two ago.

ESET, and VM software, what do you see on them? eset is always updated and the vm i dont use that often, and again it was recently installed.
Just possibilities on ESET and VM. (I happen to like ESET)..

Ok lets not worry about asacpi.sys if the 2009 one is in sys32 thats all that matters. Something was/is? loading the 2005.

if the old one is in that path you can delete it.

after that last bs, i did a memtest and it failed on random patt. cpu was overclocked by 10% and i removed that, reseated the ram, removed the nvidia card, pagefile was on 3 drives, changed it to 1, ran the memtest for 2 cycles and it passed this time. lets see if that makes a difference.
