Windows 7 Applications Not Responding Occasionally Black Screen

Similar problems as in this thread:
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...esponding.html

Seems like any time I put any real load on my computer such as the games I enjoy I run into problems.

Problems: The game I am running frequently goes to "Not Responding" mode then comes back after a minute or two, only to repeat later. During this time any applications I switch to also go into "Not Responding" mode for awhile.

Occasionally the computer Black Screens and/or Restarts on its own. It does a disk check which takes forever.

Not sure if this is related but I noticed my System Rating Score dropped from 7.4 to 7.2 in the Component Categories of Graphics and Gaming Graphics. Even though my hardware is still the same. It is possible the 7.4 score was taken when crossfire was enabled.

I think you have got a hardware issue, because you computer gives you BSOD when it gets load.
Maybe the PCB is damaged on your MB.

The Load actually causes the Not Responding on applications.

I am not quite sure what causes my Black screen of death. It seems to pop up sometimes when there are a lot of applications not responding or if I leave my computer idle for a long period of time like about an hour or two. I haven't really been able to reproduce the Black Screen of Death as I can with the Not Responding application problem.

The computer does seem to perform better after I do a chkdisk.

Any help or suggestions?

Well, if it is a software problem (I dunno) then, you should run a windows repair from the installer disk.
It will keep your files and programs.

Ya I did that and it seemed to run great for a bit but the problem still persists.

I have read around a bit and it might have something to do with my Partitions but I am not sure. I am going to look into getting an External Drive to transfer all my files and then I will do a clean wipe of this drive and reinstall, see if that helps at all.

Wish there were more people on these forums offering me some ideas :-P

At first about a week ago, the laptop would take 5-10 minutes to turn on. Programs would work and it wouldn't be a problem. A few days ago no program requiring a lot of energy would work. Mozilla. Black Screen Upon Launching Games (Not Responding) GTX 770 320.49
I recently purchased a EVGA GTX 770 2GB Superclocked w/ ACX Cooling and had to install either the 320.18 or 320.49 drivers from NVIDIA so I went with latest ones, version 320.49, as some of the issues reported with 320.18 were supposedly fixed. I know there have been many issues reported with these...
