BSOD - BugCheck 3B

    While it is testing is there anything else that could cause this - so that if I am going to replace this I will not be struck by another Blue screen

    You are not wasting my time. If I am willing to help strangers, helping friends is most satisfying.
    If it were my computer, I would test with memtest. If the results show a fail. I would test to see if it is a ram stick or a slot. If memory is bad it must be replaced, if causing the BSOD or not. That being said if the memory is bad, I think that is the cause of the BSOD.
    If a ram stick, replace all ram. If a slot and the computer is old, think in terms of a new computer.

    This is a new Custom build which was built April this year - I did test the RAM slot with Windows memory Diagnostics and it seems to be the module but will test again with Memtest

    The Memory Test Failed for the Stick and the Slots are fine

    I have contacted my Dealer who has now sent out a new RAM Module to me I shall run my system with 2GBs for now if I recieve any more BSOD's I shall post the Minidumps

    That memtest must be run for at least 8 passes. How did you get done in an hour?

    I have Re run the Test for the RAM stick and it failed so I am going to now test the RAM slot

    I think I know why it ended quickly because my baby Bro was "mashing" my Keyboard and may have pressed Esc. Sorry for the Misconseption

    I will post back when I have tested the RAM Slot

    The RAM test has finished with a Pass so I can now say that the Slot is okay - I have ordered some more RAM and since the computer is in warrenty I got it for free

    I am now running my system of 2GB of RAM and so far it is working well. Is the problem fixed?

    Only you can answer that one. Use the computer and after you get the new RAM if you still get BSODs its not fixed. It should run OK the way it is too, except you may run into performance problems. It would be my feeling that insufficient RAM could also cause BSODs. We have to wait for the new sticks to be sure.
    If you run, the computer, for a substantial period of time, without the sticks, and no BSODs, Id say you are ok.
