Computer really messed up.

**Idk if this is the right place to ask about this**

About 2 or 3 weeks ago, I put my laptop to sleep since I needed to head out and do some errands. About half an hour later I come back flip the laptop open and log in as usual. That worked fine but then everything froze on me; the Mozilla window I left open, Yahoo! Messenger even the freakin' taskbar. So I force restarted it and it wouldn't get past the "Starting Windows" screen after idk how long, and my computer boots pretty fast. Tried booting a couple more times and after a few more failures I brought up safe mode and even then I couldn't get past a start up screen. Brought it to repair mode and w/e was screwing around with me being able to log in was fixed. Now the new problem was that I wasn't able to get any programs to run and the system was running really really slow. A friend recommended I try malwarebytes or advanced system protector out. I tried both just to be safe. Malwarebytes detected a trojan in my registry and cleaned it out. ASP ran thru for a backup found nothing so i thought everything would be a-ok...Nope.

I can log in now, but its a moderate boot speed, slow (sometimes freezing log in screen), the screen goes black for about 5+ minutes after i input the pw. the system freezes every time i try to open any program or folder. Just yesterday it read on a small window "Desktop windows manager stopped working and was closed" and on the bottom right "Failed to connect to a windows service"

I've only had this HP laptop for a little over a year now, and I do a McAfee scan on it twice a week. My only lead is this all happened a few days after I downloaded Audacity.

I would also uninstall MucAfee which is worthless bloatware.

Instead install Microsoft Security Essentials and run a full scan.

Also run SFC -SCANNOW Command
