150+ GB's Suddenly Added to Harddrive!

I have have a drive monitor gadget on my windows 7 home premium x64 sp1 machine and last night there was about 200 gbs free on my Terabyte harddrive. And then when I turned it on earlier (about 14 hours later) I noticed that I only had 1% left on it. What could be taking up space. I am not downloading anything, I tried using CCleaner to free up space the then something just fills the space back up. I have Agent Ransack and it isn't showing any particular large files that where created since then. I have Combo firewall and Avast running all the time. I did a boot scan with Avast and everything came back clean. I am about to do a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Please help!

    DragonPoet welcome

There are many normal processes that can explain this "disappearance". For example if you ran a restore point, or did a back up on the TB drive there would be massive amounts of data stored until the next time you ran disk cleanup.

Another might be installation of SP-1 with its huge amount of files (more than 140,00) which would also be temporary.

We really could use much more information to help you diagnose this problem (if it is truly a problem)

I would start by re-booting, and running the disk cleanup wizard.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
