My new W7 laptop won't install any programs off the internet

    PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING!!!

Well, I installed Chrome fine, but I downloaded Avast off Cnet.com (the legit avast, not a scam), and during the installation the computer shut down. It said something like "A program has tried to use a ????? that it didn't have permission to".

And, several other problems since I opened my laptop an hour ago. when it first crashed, it took a few times to reboot to finally open windows.. OH GOD now it's saying the graphics processor needs to be changed to optimize performance??? UGH!!! And the battery life sucks.. this is sooooo depressing because I waited for this laptop for about a month, and this is my first personal computer.

What is causing all of these problems??? And try not to recommend a system restore, because it's a new laptop..I just used this copy of Windows for the first time ever.

Boot in safemode with networking and run a scan of Malwarebytes
Unfortunately a System Restore might be the only solution, Avast may have messed up your system. You should use MSE instead
