Random BSOD's
Hello everyone!
These random BSOD's just drive me crazy, first my system specs followed by a small explanation.
Attachment: Attachment 161310
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
RAM: 2x 2GB GEIL 1333Mhz DDR3 (Dual Channel)
CPU: Intel i5 750 @ 2.67 Ghz
Mobo: MSI P55-GD45
HD: Western Digital 250GB
PSU: Thermaltake 500/550 Watt (not entirely sure)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB
Story:
After a year of being stable all of a sudden some random blue screens appeared (most while playing a game, but also when idle or playing a movie). After a clean Windows 7 install the BSOD's were gone but the screen just randomly locked up (freezing) and there was a really weird sound from the speakers.
Testing I did so far:
10 passes of memtest per RAM module and both with succes. Tried them in every slot.
10 hour GPU stress to check stability and temp: succes
12 hour CPU stress: stable and max temp was 54 degrees celcius
Tried to manually set the RAM timings (values obtained via vendor) and also tried to set it to 1066Mhz instead of 1333Mhz, no succes.
After a while I experimented with Snow Leopard on my PC... so formatted everything and installed OS X Snow Leopard with succes and the system NEVER locked up or what so ever. Now back to windows 7 and the blue screen only appeared once so far, but I know something is wrong. That's why there's only 1 dump file in the .zip file.
I really hope any of you can help me out. First I thought it was a hardware issue but after a succesful OS X Snow Leopard install I'm not sure anymore.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers, Joey
