    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD Every Night

    Hello, first time posting here.

I've recently built a computer (with help of my dad :P),

We've had problems with the motherboard, so we returned it and the new replacement MSI 870-G45 is going well :)

The only issue is, every night when I leave the computer on, it blue screens or shuts down with the BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.

The only thing that runs every night is my forticlient anti-virus at 2:00AM O_o maybe it's connected to a daily scan?

Either way, the dump is here. Can anyone help pin point the problem?

PS. Likely suspects would be the old power supply, as it is around 8 years old now. With the MSI 870-G45, it also includes CPU "phases" to regulate power and AMD Cool & Quiet.

I also notice though, that even though I come home from school (8 hours later), it doesn't blue screen even though sleeping 7 hours does (if that makes any sense...)

If anyone needs more information, I can supply previous crash dumps or system specs.

EDIT: Off to school, so sorry for any late replies.

Wow thanks for the quick reply!

The Ethernet driver was on MSI's website, and I'm sure it's the newest version. My internet works even without it, so I'll uninstall it and see if things change.

My blue screens typically happen at night, so expect an update in 24 hours.

I wish you luck, but if it happens again, give me all the reports especially the new one.

    Okay it happened again

I had uninstalled that driver (which was up to date compared to MSI's site) and let windows auto install one.

    New dump included.

Okay, thanks for the help :) now to find suitable drivers.... love how Atheros doesn't have any drivers on their website >.<

Again, thanks a ton :) I'll handle it from here.

    Update here

It's not solved, I tried roll-backing drivers to a previous version.

    Versions I've tried:

    1.0.0.4
    1.0.0.37
    1.0.2.51

The 1.0.0.37 is the driver located on MSI's website for the motherboard, the 1.0.2.51 is the one located on Atheros' website under the most recent version. 1.0.0.4 is the driver windows automatically installs.

Out of the three drivers, I only get a blue screen around every 24 hours with the 1.0.0.4, whereas the other drivers had them more frequently.

I find it really odd that out of the 10 blue screens, it's always when my computer is inactive--I've never had a blue screen while it's in use.

For example, last night I played around 5 hours of games, with no issue, but sleeping for 7 hours caused a blue screen....

I mean--this isn't too bad considering it never interrupts anything, but I don't want any complications when I'm downloading/torrenting over night :P

Attached is four crash dumps, I'm pretty sure they're all the same though.
