    Random Crashing (w/Noise from Speakers)

    Hi,

I am not going to lie, I am not brilliant with the mechanics of PCs.. I have filled in the PC specs through the help forum post, but am a little stuck in reporting my problem with the correct files.

Here is what happens, randomly my computer crashes, (not BSOD) just regular screen freezes, completely locked up (also speakers make droning noise), only way to get out is to restart computer. Which then comes up trying to start in safe mode, but I always go back into normal mode. Thing is, when I come back into my computer, everything is fine.. how can I see an error report? Or is there anything else I can give which might indicate a clue in the right direction.

It's happened when browsing the net / gaming, its only happened about 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks. Skype has always been running.. if that helps!?

    Thank you for any help

It won't solve your problem or help diagnose the problem but one way I have found to get out of a screen freeze is to press CTRL-ALT-DEL and then hit the cancel button on the dialog that appears.

Well, let's hope there's more. In some cases real freezes don't even give you a minidump file. But even if that's not there, the rest of the info you can upload if you follow the instructions in the tut, is still quite useful.

followed the BSOD thread: here are my files attached...

    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
64 - the original installed OS on the system? 64 - an OEM or full retail version? full retail - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? 2 years ish.. - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) I did...about a year ago

It randomly reset (not crashed) earlier also.

When it does lock up, I can't do C+A+D.

    Hope the files help ^

Regretfully, no dumpfiles. That makes it more difficult, at least, for me. There are plenty of experts out there who will help but all I can advise now is the following.

Some of the info you did provide, points to application errors, most of them are skype. If not too much of a hassle, deinstall skype completely and see what happens. Also, is this only during gaming? Because the other app failures mention your games?

    What happens in safe mode?

Finally, if you did nothing but let updates in, then something might have messed up in your drivers. Have a look at the tutorial for SFC scannow:

Thanks, I've done the Command Prompt tutorial, with the results of bottom screen shot (didn't find any integrity violations).

I did download the driver updater and updated 1 drive (Altho when I scanned first it came back with loads) but then got the entire suite and it returned with 1 (networking program update).

I will reinstall Skype later and say if it does happen again, thank you for the help!
