Hi - I will get to this as soon as I can; right now I'm trying to figure out why my XP netbook will not connect to the internet all of a sudden, and if I don't have that when this goes down or crashes again, then I have no way to getting online. At this point, I'm just so close to throwing all these things against the wall it isn't funny. But like I said, as soon as I can, I'll do it - I printed it out, so I have something, but if I have download something, well, I'll deal with that when I get to it.
I understand the frustration.... good luck with the netbook and post back if we can help..

Well, think the netbook is fixed... I think it still had an initial problem that I might have fixed, but the rest of the past 24 hours was wasted in putting the wrong password in. Yeah. So, anyway, I'm beat from all this today, but was wondering, I looked at the System Restore program (I tried F8 a long time ago, but whether I held the thing down or kept pressing it over and over again, it never did anything) -- I'm guessing I can't go back to a date that isn't listed on the list of perhaps 5 dates, can I? Yeah, I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but just checking. So, yeah, the trouble shooting list when I last looked at it, was going really well so far... not... I need a vacation here. LOL

Hi again... yeah, bet you're sick of me. LOL well, yesterday the computer was working, but then we went out and I purposely shut it off, and it was off for most of the morning. Today was going good until the three line or so BS, with all I could see was Hardware failure. It went to a black screen, but did not restart. So I left it off for a good while, because I was hoping to get the files from that blue screen, and not a subsequent one. And it worked, didn't freeze on me. So, probably shouldn't be hopefully right now, but silly me is. Maybe because the shuttle went up, so I'm in a good mood or something. LOL

This one gave us something new: a problem with afd.sys which is part of your NIC drivers.
Please look for and install the latest for your ethernetcard/connection?

See Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 HP G71-340US Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

If i am not mistaken, that would be your notebook's network card driver....

Thanks for that... I was still stuck googling the other stuff, so who knows how long it would have taken me to get there. But um... I can still get online and all, but did it actually install if I get these messages --

The device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system. INsert or reinsert now.

then I click okay, only choice, it configures and installs... I did it a second time because I just wasn't sure what it did before, because I got a second message of I think looking for it by going to finding new hardware or something. So did this do it's thing or what exactly?

I hope so.... Let's see if you're allright now... If not... this message seems to indicate that something might be wrong with the network hardware... post back with dmps if you get another bsod?

Well, you know I will... LOL Got a question though. When you say network hardware, are you talking about mine alone on the Win7 computer, or in general... because the internet here has been slowing down during the day for the past couple days, and they said it's not apparently them, but us somehow. Wiring, whatever. But yet, in the morning it's been fine until a certain point, and then incredibly slow or whatnot. You'd think it was a traffic issue since you're talking about as the day progresses... anyway, the point is, are you talking my computer only, or the internet in general?

Your computer only..... though IF your computer has problems w/ network card then it could also have a problem with bad responses within a LAN... But the that would be easy to see as you would only have problems in the period of time the network slowes down...
