    Recurring BSOD

    System Info:
    - x86 (32-bit)
    - 3GB RAM, Intel Duo 965 Chipset Family
    - Originally had Vista, installed Windows 7 Premium (Full retail version) - Hardware age is 3.5 years, OS age is 2
    All of the BSOD information is attached.

    I have narrowed it down to not being the RAM. I have taken out each ram stick and run the computer with the other, so that's not the issue. I have also run MemTest86x and it completed all 5 passes without fail.

    Other methods implemented were: cleaning the laptop, Disk Fitness Test (both Basic and Advanced) run with complete success. A clean system file check. I don't see any correlation between the Windows Update History and the BSOD errors either.

    Some additional things to note: After doing two attempts at system restore in the past day, they both took several hours and did not complete. Furthermore I just had to do Windows Startup Repair and it finished with the root cause being Section of a disk was corrupted.

    Hello BJuliano, welcome to SF!

    You seem to have the typical problems of upgrading to W7 on an older system. You have some drivers running that are way too old and need to be upgraded, example:

    HTML Code:
    Driver	c:\windows\system32\drivers\o2media.sys (1.0.2.23, 33.38 KB (34,176 bytes), 11/14/2005 1:28 PM)
    We've got some more checking to do but please make sure you have only compatible and up to date drivers. get back to us if you need help on that...

    HTML Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
    This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
    the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
    as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
    Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
    coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
    /NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
    hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
    If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
    system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

    Thank you, while that may be one of the symptoms, I don't think that would be the root of the problem, due to the fact that it wasn't a new install of W7. I have had 7 on this computer for over 2 years at this point and the errors had just started happening in the past month.

    Also, how would I go about fixing those that you listed?

    In that case, what changes have you made in that last month? Including W7 updates?

    For the drivers: try Drivers and Downloads
