    Windows 7 BSOD ?

    Hello guys,

I built this computer back in July 2010 and it's been fine until the past few months. I'm getting BSOD every so often, mostly while gaming, but sometimes just at idle as well.

I hope I did all the thread said for BSOD rules.. let me know if I missed anything.

    It's a stop error 124..

I noticed these the last time:

    0xFFFFA8005A42028
    0xC0...185
    0x000...400405
    FA000...0

It said it could not post/dump to memory because of one of the above, I don't remember which.. sorry I'm not all too helpful. I'd like to think I'm pretty adept with computers but when it comes to BSOD I'm really clueless.

Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? -64 Bit - the original installed OS on the system? - Yes - an OEM or full retail version? - OEM (from NewEgg) - What is the age of system (hardware)? ~July 2010 - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Reinstalled few wks ago with purchase of SSD

(Full PC specs in the dropdown bottom left)

I'm running Avast for antivir, saw that in a few posts? Maybe that?
I use CCleaner and SuperAntiSpyware to keep the system clean.

Here's something of note, just thinkin about it:
I used to like using Malwarebytes Antimalware - but when I run it on this PC for full scan it gives me a BSOD.. forgot all about that because I don't use it anymore.

No DMP's included in the upload, try this method.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

    The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    OK your way out.
Reboot if changes have been made.

    Hi Zig, thank you

I am guessing that I'll have to BSOD again before the \Minidump folder is created and contains anything, correct? I turned off auto restart and set debugging to small mem. dump. Going to reboot now.

So I just BSOD'd again playing Battlefield 2 Bad Company... -- actually not playing but on the main welcome screen after exiting from a server that i was on for 5 minutes

Checked and don't see the \Minidump folder ? BSOD said "Failed to dump" to memory or something similar again

    ? Same #'s

    0xFFFFA8005A42028
    0x000...400405
    FA000...0

and failed to dump to memory because of: 0xC0...185
