BSOD on clean W7 x64 install after CPU/SSD upgrade
Hello,
I've been using my Shuttle SG31G2 system for about 2 years with no problems at all. Last week I decided to do a small upgrade and got an Intel Q8400 CPU and a 64GB Crucial SSD (CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1). Since the upgrade I've been getting BSOD's randomly and I'm guessing it's the SSD although I don't know for sure. I'd be very thankful if someone could guide to what may be wrong.
Some quick info:
- I'm running Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, clean install with all windows updates installed and Intel drivers installed + latest amd radeon drivers.
- The BSOD's happen completely randomly without any interaction. I just have to turn the PC on and leave it on. Sometimes they come after a minute, sometimes the computer can run for 3-4 hours. Last night I watched a DVD and nothing happened. When I was going to turn the pc off and clicked the "start" button I got a BSOD.
- I did a memory test with MemTest86 and had it run for 15 minutes without any errors.
- Upgraded the SSD to it's latest firmware.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Especially since I don't know whether the drive is at fault or my PC..
Thanks,
Daniel
