Yeah power management is usually what crashes outdated drivers.
If you are going to set it to always on to avoid the problem the machine should probably be turned off at night instead of just left on full blast all the time.

Well I've tried to updated every driver I can think of on the system. He normally shuts the computer down at night. I told him to turn off the sleep or hibernate function for now to see if he still gets any blue screens or if they are all related to the sleep or hibernate function in an attempt to narrow down the cause of the problem.

I'm pretty confident it is a driver related issue. The problem is there are a couple of devices I could not find windows 7 drivers for on this system.
You are doing what I would probably be doing under the circumstances, I hope it solves the problem.

OK he tried the sleep settings and that didn't correct the problem either. I told him while it was still under warranty I'd talk to the place he bought it which happened to be OfficeDepot. They charged him $200 to look at it claiming it probably had malware. They called back a few hours later and said it was a setting wrong but didn't explain more. I asked him to get a better diagnosis from them when he goes to pick the computer up. I'm curious what setting they suggest caused that.
