    system shuts down

Hi I have a new PC and all of a sudden for some reason when I leave it on for a
period of time it sort of dies. Screen blank and power button flases. I am unable to power off the PC at this stage so have to power off at the power point...to be able to restart it.
No error messages so any ideas?

This could happen for many reasons.
Move the mouse, press any button in ur keyboard.
Did you Tried to set bios to wake up on double mouse click?
Check if ur pc have any wake button.
Read this Power Plan Settings - Change[2]=Power%20Management
Update BIOS and drivers for chipset.
    You can try that,
In control Panel /Device manager/Universal serial port controllers,There is a list of USB ROOT HUB. If you right click /Properties on each of these you will see a tab saying Power Management. From there you can check the box to allow the device to wake up the computer from sleep
