I know I'm going to sound like such a noob here, but how do I know which driver is the one I need? I mean obviously I need the Wireless Lan Driver (USB) but I don't recognise either of the manufacturer vendors and Acer's Hardware Detector only shows the VGA manufacturer, any ideas? | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit CPU AMD Athlon II X2 215 Memory 3GB DDR3 |

- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver

The download page for the Guru3D Driver Sweeper programs you suggested contains text stating the program has been discontinued, or I am doing something stupid?
The device that uses the faulty driver is a Belkin Wireless USB Network Adaptor, I've tried using both Windows Vista and XP drivers as opposed to the Windows 7 one I was using, no such luck though. I can't remember where I found them, but returning to Belkin's driver page, they use one driver for all 3 OS's now.
Visiting Atheros's driver page, can only find compatibility for up to Vista, no 7..
I'm fairly sure that weird message in the folder was saved onto my machine by a friend some time ago as some cheap joke, however how it made itself into that folder when I uploaded is beyond me, and even weirder checking properities it states date created was the 08/07/2011, when I created the folder. Either way I ran a full virus scan, only returning tracking cookies, so I think the document's harmless.
But cheers panais, I appreciate this . | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit CPU AMD Athlon II X2 215 Memory 3GB DDR3 |

Ah, that makes more sense. Belkin : Support F5D7050 Wireless G USB Network Adapter - Drivers
Is my USB adapter, the 4xxx driver. I've downloaded and tried that driver, still no luck though .
I'm going to Device Manager, and uninstalling and deleting driver software. However when I try and select the new driver from the Belkin site to install Windows tells me I already have the most recent driver version. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit CPU AMD Athlon II X2 215 Memory 3GB DDR3 |
