Hi,
Soon after Windows 7 starts, generally between 1 to 4 minutes after, my computer freezes, but not completely, it seems to only hold up all access to HDD, so anything that does not have to access the HDD will not be frozen. At the same time, my HDD LED is fully lit, it does not even blink, it is on 100% of the time during the period for which this "freezing" occurs. The "freezing normally lasts between 40 seconds to 1 minute and 30 seconds.
It also does it when going out of Sleep.
My Computer is running a RAID 1 array composed of two Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB drives running on Intel Rapid Storage Technology, they are used for storage only. I also have a Crucial M4 64gig SSD where Windows 7 is installed.
I tried installing the latest UEFI BIOS and Rapid Storage
drivers, but it did not change anything.
I have used my computer a little, before having a RAID 1 set-up, and this problem never occurred, so I'm guessing it might be related to the RAID 1.
My raid volume is accessible from within Windows 7 before and after the "freezing". Also the raid 1 volume appears as functioning normally.
I did a Process Monitor, you can download it
here. The "freezing started at 4:48:20 (+- 10 seconds) and stopped at 4:49:29 (+- 5 seconds)
If anyone know how I could solve this issue I would be really happy.
Computer is:
P8Z68-V Pro
Intel i5 2500 @ 3.3gHz
4 gig Ram
Seagate Barracuda Green 5900rpm 2TB X 2 (in raid 1 using Intel Rapid Storage)
M4 Crucial 64gig SSD (as boot drive running Windows 7 64bit professional)
