Blue Screen of Death. Can someone help me out? Hi,
I don't know much about computers, and lately I've been having a problem I need to get fixed. Hopefully someone here is able to give me an answer, and a step-by-step solution. In March my computer crashed, and the techs at my university reformatted it and installed Windows 7. Previously I had used Vista. I don't know if this makes a difference, but it might be worth mentioning. Ever since then I've been having trouble with a blue screen popping up. This happens when I stream videos online. If I view videos in a full screen format it's usually fine, but if I do other things at the same time (have multiple windows open) it crashes. As I like to multitask, this is hugely annoying. Restarting it is never a problem, and other than spacing out when I try to watch movies the computer is fine. I'm adding a picture I managed to take of the screen. I'll probably need to add additional information if I want anyone to be able to help me, but as I have no idea what is needed I hope this will be enough to at least get started.
Thanks in advance,
Linn | My System Specs |

Your screenshot shows TDR116
The Nvidia driver is the cause,
Uninstall it and use Driver Sweeper to remove leftover nvidia display driver files
Then reinstall the Nvidia driver => http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
If BSODs still occur test your RAM and Graphic card RAM - Test with Memtest86+ Nvidia Video Card - Test with OCCT STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting
This BSOD is often caused by defects in the RAM or graphics card | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Win7 Ultimate SP1 x64 / Windows 8 Pro / Android CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 OC'd 3.08GHz Motherboard Asus Rampage formula LGA775 Memory 8GB DDR2 900Mhz Graphics Card Zotac GTX 460OC 2GB GDDR5/Asus EN9600GT 1GB DDR3 PhyX Sound Card Supreme FX2 Monitor(s) Displays AOC 22' Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Prolink keyboard Mouse Prolink optical mouse PSU Cooler Master GX 650W Cooling Cooler Master V6 + 3X fans Hard Drives 3X500GB hitachi, 2TB internal, 500GB Seagate FreeAgent, 640GB Samsung Internet Speed 1MiB/s Other Info 5.1 System + 2.1 System |

Ok, I'll try that when I get home this evening. Do I uninstall that like I would any other program, using the Control Panel, or is a driver different from a program when you uninstall it? Is there a chance something will happen to my computer while I don't have a NVidia driver, before I download the newer one? I'm sorry if my questions are silly, but like my post says, I really don't know much about computers... | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Premium 32bit |

Nothing will happen but your display settings. They will be set to the lowest level until you reinstall the latest Nvidia driver | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Win7 Ultimate SP1 x64 / Windows 8 Pro / Android CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 OC'd 3.08GHz Motherboard Asus Rampage formula LGA775 Memory 8GB DDR2 900Mhz Graphics Card Zotac GTX 460OC 2GB GDDR5/Asus EN9600GT 1GB DDR3 PhyX Sound Card Supreme FX2 Monitor(s) Displays AOC 22' Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Prolink keyboard Mouse Prolink optical mouse PSU Cooler Master GX 650W Cooling Cooler Master V6 + 3X fans Hard Drives 3X500GB hitachi, 2TB internal, 500GB Seagate FreeAgent, 640GB Samsung Internet Speed 1MiB/s Other Info 5.1 System + 2.1 System Blue Screen of Death.
