What was your CPU temps? And, how long did it run?
I used speedfan, so I only had 1 cpu temp (is there a better cpu temp reader I can get?)which was 37C and it only ran for about a min.
Use Coretemp64 or real temp. They will show tjmax which is the temps of the cores. You high them should be 60° before starting shutdown. What CPU cooler do you have? It should not have shut down in 1 minute.
cooler master gemenii II
What are your normal idle temps and what are they when your computer is under stress? Also, check and make sure your cooler is runnung when you start the computer up. That test stresses the CPU and causes high temps. It also stresses the ram a little. Did Prime95 show ant errors. (the green squares will turn red.)
normal idle temp is 37C, I dont kow what my temps are under stress because my computer crashes when I try to. I made sure my cooler is running. got a BSOD from the test. 123101-14570-01.dmp.zip it crashed before prime95 could show any errors. Ran for about a minute again.
Jonathan King will have to read the dumps. He is also better than me at assessing this as he wrote the Prime95 tutorial. My guess is CPU, Temps or possibly ram. Is everything in bios set to optimized defaults? Don't try this test if you are overclocked, I suspect you need a better cooler to run this test OC'd. It should be OK at stock.
nothing is overclocked and everything in BIOS is default.
Also, If normal idle temps are 37°, you were not at 36° during prime95, even 1 minute. Your max temp is 62°, but I think that is Tcase. The temps you are reading are TJmax which will run 5-8° below tCase. So, as far as I am concerned, when temps get above 60° I start shutting down.
i didn't day I was at 36C on the test, it was 37C, the same as my idle temp. what does tjmax and tcase mean? the tjmax temp says 90C on mine.
