Most Antivirus software cause BSODs but from my experience the most notorious one is indeed Avast
Most BSOD's are not caused by anti virus products but by virus's or trojans that they might have missed. BSOD's many times are caused by drivers for devices on your system or clicking on some web page that injects a bad guy into your system.
I don't think that anyone can say with any conviction that a particular AV product will cause BSOD's.
Some BSOD's with AV products can be caused by not updating the AV or upgrading the AV engine. Also running a lot of programs at the same time with some of them not so well behaved can also create a BSOD.
So the answer is yes/no/maybe on most anything that will cause BSOD's/

Most of the time antivirus drivers are directly blamed in the .dmp files. Device driver BSODs are completely unrelated to antiviruses causing BSODsMost BSOD's are not caused by anti virus products but by virus's or trojans that they might have missed.
