BSOD and hard-lock
Generally three problems occur.
1. I get a random BSOD
2. The computer just hard-locks, can't do anything have to reboot.
3. The screens go all crazy and hard locks (they look a lot like those paintings that you have to stare at for a long time to see the picture underneath)
The computer ran just fine for about 2 months before I started getting these lock ups and BSOD's, I do have a child (14 months) that would often run up and just push down on the button to turn off the computer.
I find that my left monitor flickers a little bit when i have a browser up, I RMA'd that and the new one did the same thing so I figured it was something to do with the video card.
Things I have tried.
1. Ran memtest86 for 8 hours, cycled through the tests 4 times, no errors
2. RMA'd the board and CPU
3. Installed a friends HD 5770 (his is the nighthawk version and mine is the normal one)...possible that the problem caused during this test was a bad stick of ram that I found later.
4. Used a different Hard drive (can't guarantee that the one I tried was good though, so that doesn't mean much)
5. Re-installed windows 7 about 4 or 5 times, sometimes not installing any drivers sometimes installing all that I could find, sometimes installing older versions of drivers (AMD 11.5 instead of 11.6...video card), sometimes installing vista and then upgrading it to 7, sometimes just running vista.
6. Whenever I installed a new driver I would go launch driver sweeper and make sure the old one was deleted first.
Basically I am at a loss and I would appreciate the help, Thank-you all in advance
