Crashes after Welcome screen

Greetings 7 forums
I have a unique problem (possibly). I have dual booted Vista and 7, it used to work great. I had an Intel P4 processor 32b, 500 GB Samsung Hard Drive, 4 RAM slots (1GB, 1GB, 512MB, 512MB) for hardware. Again everything used to work great. Well call this Comp. A

I turned off the computer and went on vacation. I came back, started up my computer, and it consistantly reboots soon after the welcome screen turns to black. I do see a mouse pointer so its not the Video Card. I tried the vista side of the dual boot, same result.

So I have another computer that I use (Comp. B). I switched the parts one by one to the other computer, everything seemed fine. I used the Processor and RAM of Comp. A in Comp. B with Comp. B's hard drive and it worked fine. I went on to put Comp. A's hard drive in, and it did its rebooting habit once again.

A.) Am I right in thinking its just my hard drive?
B.) How can I fix this?

Hello Wfuller, welcome to SF!

The fact that you have a second PC helps!... That's good. I would restore comp B to its original state and ADD the harddisk out of comp A as a second (non primary) disk.

Boot Comp B with its own disk and use the opportunity to fully test/check (what is probably now your D: ) disk with Chckdsk, AV and anti Malware like Malwarebytes.
