    Constant Crashes and BSoDs


    This is my first PC build and I'm running into constant crashes and BSoDs.

    The original BSoD would occur anytime I played minecraft (both in browser or offline). I would also get random freezes and BSoDs that didn't appear to be connected to program. Over the last week the freezes have increased 10 fold and have become unbearable.

    So far I reseated all hardware and cables, I installed Win 7 on my secondary HDD to allow me to update the OCZ SSD to the latest firmware. I also reinstalled Java because I noticed it's memory usage was shooting above 1GB. I reinstalled HD 6950 drivers.

    I need help!

    Also, if this info is of any help, I used WhoCrashed to find out more info on what could be causing the crashes and here's what it came up with...

    The attached does not include any minidumps.
    is there anything in c:\windows\minidump ?
    If not please take the following steps so there will hopefully be one next time you bsod.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

    Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    Under the Write Debugging Information header
    Select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    OK your way out.
    Reboot if changes have been made.

    No there was nothing there. The last BSoD was last night during my attempt to find out what was happening. Minidump info was there yesterday because I used Nirsofts BlueScreenView to check it out, but now the files are gone.

    Since I updated my OCZ SSD firmware the BSoDs have stopped but the random crashes during Minecraft, as well as during boot occur. I have an event log of all the errors, warnings, and critcals, could that be useful?

    Someone here may be able to help you, and yes I might even be able to point a direction if I looked over it all, but I'm best with the windows debugger.

    Here's the error events log. It's frozen up 4 times in the last 30 minutes. Once while trying to replicate the BSoD from Minecraft. 2 were random. The last was on boot at the Windows logo.
