| Windows 7: BSOD Memory Management |

#1 | | Windows 7 Professional x64 |
BSOD Memory Management I built my computer in April of 2010 and have been having a lot of BSOD problems since it was built. It will generally crash within 3-10 minutes of booting, giving a MEMORY MANAGEMENT or PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA blue screen. I found that if it boots and is stable I can just hibernate the computer instead of shutting down and it will remain stable. This is kind of a pain, so I'd like to fix this.

As for the temperatures, my minimum is 29°C and my maximum is 42°C
I'm not sure if I was in the correct place in the BIOS for the information, so I'll post it exactly as it was labeled.
Vcore - 1.408V
DDR3 1.5V - 1.600V
+3.3V - 3.312V
+12V - 12.048V
Those were the only four items which listed a voltage; I'm assuming Vcore is the CPU and obviously DDR3 is the RAM. I'm not sure about the other two.

The CPUZ snips look ok.
Will need the DDR3 and CPU NB voltages.
DDR3 Voltage Control is the DRAM voltage, this will be one voltage number, like "1.50V".
'CPU NB Vid' control is the integrated memory controller voltage, if there is no value shown change it to 'Manual' and select 1.150v or as close to that as you can get. Default voltage should be 1.100v. If it is at a higher value than 1.150v don't lower it.
While in BIOS change the 'Command Rate (CR)' to '2T', this is '1T/2T Command Timing' in your BIOS, save and exit the BIOS.
This will help stability.

I found the DDR3 and CPU NB voltages, they are 1.6v and 1.200v. I left them as they were. My command timing was already set to 2T, so I left it as well. My RAM is installed in slots 1 and 2.
After another string of blue screens I decided to run memtest again and by test 5 of pass one it began reporting a lot of errors. To find out which stick it was, or if it was a certain slot, I ran memtest on one stick of RAM at a time. After they both showed up clean (4 passes), I installed both sticks, ran memtest (8 passes) and it showed no errors. I'm not really sure what to make of that.
Thanks again,

That is not unusual, electronics are just that way, when memtest86+ shows errors it means there is a problem. Even if it doesn't show any errors the run before and the run after.
An error with 2X4GB installed and then no errors with 1X2GB installed, usually indicates a timing and/or voltage adjustment is needed.
It is still possible that the RAM is faulty, let's try some adjustments and see if it will run stable.
CPUZ is showing your CR at 1T, go to BIOS and select 2T again, save and exit BIOS.
Then check CPUZ Memory tab and see if it says CR 2T.
Go to DRAM timings and change 'cycle time (tRAS)' to 25, this will be the 4th item in BIOS -DDR3 Timings Items.
When changed it should read, for the first 4 timings:
9
9
9
25
Bump your CPU NB voltage to 1.240v or as close as you can get it to that number.
Save and exit BIOS.
Then run memtest86+ again, both RAM cards installed, for a minimum of 8 passes, best to run overnight. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number 76~2.0 OS Windows 7 Ult x64 - SP1/ Windows 8 Pro x64 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 4.6GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD3H, f18 Memory 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1600 Corsair Vengeance CL8 1.5v Graphics Card Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X OC 1GB DDR5 Sound Card Onboard VIA VT2021 Monitor(s) Displays 22" LCD Dell Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Wave Mouse CM Sentinel PSU Corsair HX650W Case Cooler Master Storm Scout Cooling Corsair H80 2x12cm Noctua NF P12 , 2x14cm case fans Hard Drives Samsung 840Pro 128GB SSD,
